Fitbit Blaze #1 Fitness Smartwatch Review

Fitbit Blaze is built to track your workouts, monitor your performance stats, and gauge your progress.

In our list of Top 10 Best Smartwatches, it ranked at #1.

Fitbit Blaze has a 1.2-inch, detachable 240 x 180-pixel color screen, an octagonal metal frame, and a rubber textured strap.

On the left side, you will found a button that serves as a home and back command, with two on the right that can be used for volume controls for music while the right-side buttons provide an alternative way for you to select exercise options, in case your hands are wet or gloved and aren't registering on the touchscreen.

The watch body can be popped out and placed into another band and frame easily enough. The interchangeable band and frames and customizable clock face on the hi-res color touchscreen let you personalize your style for every occasion.

The screen itself is bright and sharp and offers a handful of different watch faces to customize the information you feel most valuable.

The screen is off by default, but it will automatically turn itself on as you raise your wrist and it’s easy to read in most lighting conditions.

Fitbit Blaze tracks steps, calories burned, stairs climbed, active time, resting heart rate, and both sleep stages and quality of sleep quite accurately.

The watch will also attempt to automatically recognize when you’re exercising and identify what type of exercise you’re doing. It will vibrate to tell you when to start and vibrate again to indicate when to stop.

The app is a superb example of how to clearly present data in a visually appealing way. It’s easy to navigate, and syncs quickly with the Blaze whenever you open it up.

You can also link your MyFitnessPal account, which means that all the food you log will instantly sync with the Fitbit app and vice versa, giving you a dynamic calorie count throughout the day.

All notifications are automatically removed each day and individual notifications can be deleted by swiping right when displayed.

You can control the Blaze's music playlist (including apps like Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, and podcasts) using Music Control, even during workouts.

Just press and hold the upper right button for Music Control, and use the lower right button to see notifications.
