Volkswagen has made a new breakthrough in Geneva Motor Show 2013 by introducing the world most economical car, the XL1.VW XL1 itself is a 795 kg hybrid car for two passengers only. This car is armed with two-cylinder TDI engine that can generate 48 hp or 35 KW.
The car is also equipped with an electric motor with 27 HP (20kW) combined with seven-speed DSG transmission and 5.5 KWh lithium-ion battery.
Volkswagen claims that XL1 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.7 seconds before reaching its maximum acceleration (162 km/h).
VW XL1 is only consume 0.9 liters of fuel for 100 km, with CO2 exhaust emissions by 21 g/km.
