Garmin has introduced a GPS receiver accessory that can work on Android and iOS smartphones, the GLO and GLONASS. And as you know, today smartphones are already has been equipped with GPS, so why Garmin create these devices for smartphones???The current GPS on smartphone is not very accurate, so by using this device via Bluetooth connection, then the positioning can be done more accurately. The secret lies in the number of used satellites. Garmin GLO is able to connect to more than 24 satellites than ordinary GPS system.
The internal battery is capable to accommodate your mapping needs up to 12 hours. Meanwhile, the receiving device will take the data 10 times per second from Russian and U.S. satellites. Both Garmin GPS receivers are also having 20% better rates than ordinary GPS.Garmin GLO & GLONASS GPS receiver will be available in next August with a price range of US$ 99. And special for pilot, Garmin offers the GLO for Aviation with a special mount for US$ 129.
