Nespresso Capsules is an energy-efficient batteries that use coffee as its basic materials. The idea of this eco-friendly battery was created by Mischer Traxler.Nespresso Capsules is consist of aluminum capsule, a strip of copper, salt water, and of course the coffee. The aluminum will serve as the anode, and copper as the cathode, while the salt water serve as the electrolyte.
Each battery is capable in producing electrical energy by 1.5 to 1.7 volts, equivalent to AA size batteries. Currently, Nespresso Capsules is still in development process.
