Southampton University researchers have created a plane that is printed with a 3D printer. This aircraft can fly with a speed of 100 mph, SULSA (Southampton University Laser Sintered Aircraft).Sulsa is a plane without a crew (UAVs). The entire structure of the aircraft, start from the wings to the control devices is printed with laser printer nylon “EOS EOSINT P730” that works by condensing plastic or metal material.
This kind of production process is believed to be easier and cheaper. The shape of the aircraft design can be modified or changed immediately, without having to take a lot of time and money.
Although today they could only make a plane with small size than normal aircraft, but hopefully on day they could make a larger design.
